As part of the International Green Building Conference (IGBC) 2025, participants embarked on Channel A of the One-Day Green Build Tour—visiting two landmark destinations that embody Malaysia’s drive toward sustainable development.
The tour began at Merdeka 118, the world’s second tallest building, where participants were welcomed by Tengku Dato’ Ab. Aziz Tengku Mahmud, CEO of PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn. Bhd., who shared insights into the significance of this national icon.
Next, the journey continued to the Wetlands Arboretum Centre at Gamuda Cove, where Sharon Khoo, Assistant GM of Gamuda Cove, guided participants through a showcase of biodiversity, conservation, and community-led sustainability. (The Arboretum was also featured in our December 2024 GreenRE Bulletin — read more here: https://www.greenre.org/bulletin).
A heartfelt thank you to PNB Merdeka Ventures and Gamuda Land for their generous hospitality in hosting our delegates.
This channel offered participants a rare opportunity to see how mega-developments and nature-based solutions are reshaping Malaysia’s built environment—bridging innovation, culture, and climate responsibility.
