Event Date: 20/08/2025

IGBC 2025 Green Build Tour: Channel B 🌿

Channel B of the IGBC 2025 Green Build Tour spotlighted how sustainability is shaping everyday living and learning — from large-scale townships to modern education spaces. Participants discovered how forward-thinking developments are embedding green practices into communities and schools to create a more resilient future.

The first stop was the City of Elmina, Sime Darby Property’s 6,500-acre flagship township. Mr. Edward Heng Yee Liang, Head of Business Unit 1, together with Dr. Yasmin Rasyid, General Manager of Sustainability, shared how wellness, ecology, and community are at the heart of Elmina’s development strategy.

Next, the tour visited Sunway International School (SIS), where Mr. David John, Deputy Principal, Sunway International Schools, introduced participants to the school’s holistic learning environment. The visit also highlighted SIS’s sustainable design features, with additional insights from BSD CONSULTANTS LTD, showcasing how education and infrastructure can be seamlessly aligned with sustainability. (SIS has also been featured in our January 2023 GreenRE Bulletin — read more here: https://lnkd.in/gVxDk3eh

We extend our sincere appreciation to Sime Darby Property and Sunway Property for warmly welcoming our delegates and sharing their sustainability journey

Through these visits, participants witnessed the impact of integrating sustainability into both community planning and education, reinforcing the vision for a greener, more inclusive future. 🌏💚
