Driving Net Zero in Construction: Insights from ASEAN Iron & Steel Forum 2025
At the 2025 ASEAN Iron & Steel Forum, held on 1 October 2025 at the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), our Executive Director, Ir. Ashwin Thurairajah, delivered a presentation titled “Sustainable Industrial Facilities by GreenRE” in Session 5B: Decarbonization in Construction Towards Net Zero.
His presentation detailed how GreenRE certification provides a structured pathway for industrial facilities to:
✔ Achieve compliance with Malaysia’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act (EECA)
✔ Implement low-carbon technologies and renewable energy solutions
✔ Reduce greenhouse gas emissions through sustainable design and operations
The session, chaired by Mr. Nuttapon Suttitam, featured distinguished panelists who shared cutting-edge approaches to decarbonisation in construction:
