Designing Future-Ready Spaces at SP Setia Sustainability Day 2025

On 24 September 2025, GreenRE was invited to take part in SP Setia’s Sustainability Day 2025 at Club360, Setia EcoHill, Semenyih, a full-day programme dedicated to shaping places for people, planet, and the future. The event brought together industry leaders, academics, and policymakers to share knowledge, spark ideas, and strengthen partnerships in building a more sustainable Malaysia.

As part of the highlight panel discussion, our Executive Director, Ir. Ashwin Thurairajah, joined:

• Mr. Tony Chan, Principal, ARUP Advisory – bringing regional expertise in eco-industrial park design.

• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rohaya Abdul Jalil, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia – offering research insights into real estate and sustainability.

• Moderated by Dr. Matthew Wong, CEO & Co-Founder, CarbonGPT.

The session, ā€œDesigning Tomorrow: Integrating Nature, Industry, and Community in Sustainable Placemakingā€, underscored a crucial point: sustainability should not be confined to residential townships. The same principles—efficient resource use, biodiversity integration, and community wellbeing—must extend into eco-industrial estates, ensuring developments remain both economically viable and environmentally resilient.

The event also featured opening remarks from Y.A.M. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Syed Anwar Jamalullail (Chairman, S P Setia), a keynote by Dato’ Tengku Marina (Chairman, Sustainability Committee, SP Setia), and closing reflections by Datuk Choong Kai Wai (President & CEO, S P Setia).

At GreenRE, our role extends beyond certification. We aim to catalyse collaboration with developers, policymakers, and communities, embedding sustainability across the built environment value chain.

Thank you to SP Setia and all fellow speakers for making this an inspiring and impactful exchange.
