GreenRE had the privilege of contributing to the Sustainability Seminar 2025: Revitalize & Renew Aging Buildings as one of the event partners, held on 11 July 2025 at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC). The event brought together industry professionals to explore practical solutions for upgrading aging buildings into energy-efficient, high-performing assets.

Our Executive Director, Ir. Ashwin Thurairajah, spoke in both Session 1 and Session 2:

• In Session 1 -He presented “The Business Case for Green Certification”, emphasizing the financial, operational, and environmental benefits of pursuing green building ratings for existing developments.

• In Session 2 -He participated in an expert panel discussion alongside representatives from Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI), MASHRAE, and Climate Asia Pte Ltd to explore the challenges and opportunities in rejuvenating inefficient buildings—addressing key issues such as capex, opex, performance metrics, and market barriers in Malaysia.

As Malaysia progresses toward its net-zero ambitions, such conversations are critical to advancing green retrofitting and responsible building practices.
